Memorial University student associations endorse Ches Crosbie for PC Leader
St. John’s, NL (November 30, 2017) – Today, the leadership of Memorial University’s official Progressive Conservative and Conservative student associations have issued the below statements endorsing Ches Crosbie as the next leader of the PC Party.
“On behalf of the executive of the Memorial University Progressive Conservatives, I am pleased to endorse Ches Crosbie as the next leader of our party,” said Melissa Blackmore, PCMUN President.
“Ches has a vision for Newfoundland and Labrador that places an emphasis on the interests of young Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. His drive to rebuild our economy and restore confidence in our government will support all students of our province.”
PCMUN is the official campus club of the Progressive Conservative Party of Newfoundland and Labrador at Memorial University. Their endorsement was issued in conjunction with the endorsement of the Memorial University Conservatives, the official campus club of the Conservative Party of Canada.
“Ches continues to bring forth common-sense policy solutions to the issues facing our province, and a willingness to engage with the ideas and energy of our youth organizations,” added Brittany McGrath, MUN Conservatives President.
“We are thrilled to endorse him to be the next leader of our provincial party, and look forward to working with him to improve federal-provincial party relations.”
Crosbie has previously been endorsed by former Premiers Tom Marshall and Tom Rideout, and former PC cabinet minister Dan Crummell. The next leader of the PC Party will be selected during their party convention scheduled for April 27-29, 2018.
