Statement from Ches Crosbie on Remembrance Day

St. John’s, NL (November 11, 2017) –  In recognition of Remembrance Day, PC Party Leadership candidate Ches Crosbie has issued the following statement:

“Today we remember the dedication, courage, and sacrifice of the men and women who have served Newfoundland and Labrador, and Canada.

“We remember those who fought for the independent nation of Newfoundland during the First and Second World Wars. We remember our Canadian neighbours who fought alongside us during the World Wars. We remember the families at home who supported our brave fighters overseas and contributed to the war effort. We remember those who fought in defence of our great and united nation since 1949, including wars in Korea, Afghanistan, and other international conflicts. We remember their loved ones who also endured sacrifice.

“Today we honour the brave men and women who continue to fight for Canadian freedoms and rights so that we can enjoy peace, democracy, and good governance. We can never repay the debt of their selfless service but we can recognize it, reflect on it, and learn from our history.

“Lest we forget.”
