The Book I'm Reading
I’m currently reading Ted Rowe’s biography of Sir Robert Bond.
Bond was a politician in the late 1800s in Newfoundland. He was Prime Minister of the colony in the first few years of the 20th century.
Rowe’s byline to the book says what he thinks of Bond – The Greatest Newfoundlander.
He was never defeated and he did what he did out of profound conviction about what was in the public interest.
Politicians are supposed to act in the public interest, or what they believe it to be.
I believe it is in the public interest to get government spending under control. We work too hard to have our tax dollars squandered on inefficient projects and services.
If I decide to run for Leader of the PC Party, and I am given the privilege of elected office, I promise to keep government accountable on the overspending issue.
Government must stop wasting our hard-earned money. If you agree, sign up here to show your support.
